I have over 13 years’ experience as a site leader, content innovator, prolific writer and on-camera expert for major websites and magazines covering the celebrity beat and lifestyle topics. Currently freelancing, I am a daily contributor to
Glamour.com's new entertainment blog, Obsessed, and a regular writer for
NameCandy.com's Celebrity Names Blog. I recently completed an advanced social media course at MediaBistro.com and am well-versed in the area.
I am
taking new freelance projects in the New York City area or those that can be completed remotely.
Prior to going freelance, I held positions as Web Editor at StarMagazine.com (2008-2011), freelance writer/editor at People.com (2007-2008), Senior Entertainment Editor at iVillage.com (2003-2007) and Associate Editor/Producer at SoapOperaDigest.com (1998-2003). My bylines have also appeared on Zap2It.com, TimeOutNewYorkKids.com, TheFrisky.com, MSN.com, Momtourage.com, SoapOperaWeekly.com, Gaiam.com, RiverWired.com and various national newspapers syndicated through Tribune Media Services.
My specialties include all aspects of celebrity content (breaking news, red-carpet fashion, award shows, parenting/celebrity kids, baby names, opinion pieces, party reporting) as well as general lifestyles: eco-friendly living, pets, bicycling and style. I've conducted interviews with celebrities from Matthew McConaughey to Brad Pitt as well as relationship, parenting and fitness experts. As noted above, I write blogs for Glamour.com and NameCandy.com and previously for iVillage.com (their No. 1 blog, celebrity-themed Daily Blabber, which had over 1.5 million pageviews a month, and TV Cocktail), Gaiam.com (eco-friendly offering Celebrity Planet) and StarMagazine.com (young Hollywood-focused Twinkle).
I am experienced in SEO and social media. In addition to sharing all the content I create, I live tweet major celebrity events for
Glamour.com's 135,000+ audience.
I also have television/video experience. For both Star and iVillage I was a TV commentator appearing on national shows including
Entertainment Tonight,
The Insider, CBS' Early Show and
Showbiz Tonight to promote the stories and their brands. I had media training at NBC. At iVillage I hosted/wrote my own daily gossip show, Daily Blabber, which was the site's most successful video series with over 1 million streams a month. Later, I created/wrote/hosted a six-part video series about celebrities going green for RiverWired.com. I also have interviewed celebrities on-camera at press junkets, red carpet events, premieres and award shows.
I have assisted or helmed site launches for Glamour, iVillage, Soap Opera Digest and Soap Opera Weekly. I helped launch Star on a new platform.
